Melrose Music School
Background

Melrose Music School was established in 2008 by Emma Melrose who taught piano privately for 20 years. Through her passion for music tuition and her vision of creating an environment which could accommodate a whole range of tuition in many different instruments, Melrose Music School is now a recognised and established name within its field throughout many different areas.

Lesson Information

We teach piano, keyboard, electric & acoustic guitar, ukulele, drums, singing, violin, accordion, bass guitar, trumpet & clarinet. Lessons are taught on a one to one basis typically for 30mins per week although we can arrange a longer lesson if required.

We teach all levels and ages from complete beginner to advanced. Children, teenagers & adults are all welcome!

Our Centres

We have teaching centres in Stepps, Springburn, East Kilbride & Bearsden. All centres are easily accessible by public transport and close to motorway links.

Do I Need My Own Instrument?

We provide most instruments at the music schools for you to try out at the first lesson. Your teacher can then give you advice on purchasing an instrument if you wish to pursue the lessons on a regular basis.

Not Sure What Instrument To Try?

We can provide taster lessons in all different instruments. This allows you to get a feel of different instruments and find out which one you want to pursue further.

Music School Concerts

Once a year we organise a showcase for our pupils to perform to their friends and family. The concert takes place in Home Church in Kirkintilloch and ticket sales raise money for Rookie Minds mental health charity based in Kirkintilloch. This is a great opportunity for our pupils to get used to performing within a friendly encouraging environment and showcase their musical achievements. All our pupils are encouraged to take part no matter how long they have been learning however participation is not compulsory.

Reviews

I have been using Mrs Melrose as music teacher for my daughter (12 years old) since Feb 2011. Mrs Melrose has always conducted herself professionally and has helped my daughter to improve her guitar playing a great deal. My daughter really enjoyed learning with Mrs Melrose.

Melrose Music School is a great place to learn music. The teachers are kind and helpful. They are also good at helping me when I am stuck. I play the violin and the feedback my teacher gives me helps me to be a better musician.
